Updating a Supervisor

A student's primary or alternate supervisor(s) can change during the school year for a number of reasons. Keeping a student's supervisors up-to-date ensures accurate delivery of time cards, surveys, and other CWSP communication.


If a student's supervisor is changing but the partner is not, do not create a brand new employment. Instead, edit the relevant field in the existing employment.


    1. Navigate to the employment record you would like to update. You can do so by searching for the employment in the Global Search Bar (a) or by navigating to the student's page first and selecting the employment in the related Employment list to the right (b).

    2. Click on the pencil next to Primary Supervisor (or either Alternate Supervisor, depending on who you are updating).



    3. Clear the existing supervisor's name and start typing the new supervisor's name in the "Search Contacts" box. Click Save.



Only existing contacts will surface in this lookup field. If the supervisor's contact record has not been created yet, you can do so by selecting "+ New Contact". Be sure to verify before creation that the desired contact record does not already exist to avoiding creating duplicates. If you find you are missing several contacts, use this quick create method.
